General Notes for Sarah Jane Treash
Comments from "hsfry5" on Ancestry.com: Sarah Jane Gilpin was born 2/10/1823, Columbus, OH. She was married to John Hart (Illinois marriage records show Thomas H. Hart married Sarah on 4/12/1841) and had 3 children with him when he was killed in the Mexican-American war. Sarah had a homestead next to Henry Treash. He farmed both places and she took care of his and her children, cooked and made clothes. Sarah and Henry eventually got married and had one son, Christopher Columbus Treash (records show they subsequently also had five daughters). She died on 3/30/1899 at age 79.
