General Notes for Phillipine Kathrine Roehr
Arrived from Germany in 7/1846 on the ship "Potomac" on which she was born; baptised in Baltimore; moved to Wayne, WI later that same year; moved to Fond du Lac, WI 1862; farmed there until 1905 then moved to Bushton, KS until her death in 1938.
A relative (Alan S. Dodds)traced the Lay lineage to an "area across the Mosel River from Koblenz in a small community that was once callled Lay and they still bottle a good wine there with that name".
