John was a minor at the time of his father's death as proven by a Codicil to the will which reads as follows:
Be it remembered that if either of my sons Moses and John should dye before they arrive at the age of twenty-one or without issue legally begotten, then my will is that ye survivor of them shall inherit the other part who possessed by him, his heirs and assigns forever. Also, I give to my daughter Mary Garretson one brass kettle to be bought for her about three pounds ten shillings price inpay for ye cow she let my Aaron have last spring.

The French and Indian War of 1754-5 was cause for concern among the people of Chester County, Pa. Many of them were Quakers and were opposed to war. Consequently, numerous families moved to Virginia and North Carolina. On May 4, 1754 one Joseph MADDOCK, an influential Quaker applied for a certificate of transfer from Newark MM Pa. to Cane Creek MM North Carolina. The certificate was for him, his wife, his children, and apprentices. John FRAZIER was one of the apprentices.
On 2 November 1754 John (FRASIER) apprentice to Joseph MADDOCK rcof Newark MM Pa. to Cane Creek MM No. Carolina dated 3 August 1754. (Hinshaw Vol. 1, p. 389)
On 24 November 1759 John FRAZIER married Abigail MILLICAN, New Garden MM North Carolina. Abigail was the daughter of William and Jane WHITE MILLIKAN.
NOTE: William MILLIKAN was also a pioneer in the area. He settled on a branch of Muddy Creek south west of John FRAZIER'S farm. Col. David Fanning, leader of the Loyalist Troops, burned the house of William MILLIKAN in 1782. In compiling the records of John FRAZIER three counties had to be searched. The first record found indicated that John owned land on Muddy Creek near its entrance to Deep River. In 1760, this area was Rowan County, Guilford cut in 1771, and finally Randolph County was cut from Guilford in 1779.

NOTE: John MILLS married Sarah MILLICAN, daughter of William and Jane WHITE MILLICAN. Sarah was a sister of Abigail, John's wife. John MILLS and family moved to now Jefferson County, Tennessee in 1784. In 1796 John MILLS gave land for the Lost Creek Meeting house and cemetery. He was joined in 1792 by William, John's oldest son, his wife Susanna WOODWARD FRAZIER and five children. Susanna's parents Abraham and Hanna THORNBROUGH WOODWARD and family emigrated to Tennessee in the Lost Creek area about the same time.

John FRAZIER was the first member of his family to emigrate to North Carolina. He was joined by his brother Aaronin about 1759 who on July 30, 1760 obtained a land grant for 600 acres (see map of the area by Bobbie GRIGG) Aaron married Sarah OZBORN 13 March 1767. About 1762 a nephew James FRAZIER Jr. who married Martha MILLICAN a sister of Abigail, emigrated from Pennsylvania to Randolph Co., and finally Caleb, another nephew and brother of James Jr. arrived about 1766. Also John's sister Sarah FRAZIER who married John RICH emigrated to Randolph-Guilford area before Feb. 1768 from Pa.

The following is a list of the purchasers of teh personal property of John FRAZIER:

He purchased 2 coats, a pair of leggins, a hat and 2½ yards of cloth.) John WHITE, Isiah WHITE, George MOORE, Benjamin MILLIKAN, Andrew McFETTERS, James CAMPLAN, Samuel SHARPE, John BEARD, Jermiah PUCKETT, Thomas BEARD, Abraham ELLIOT, Gilbert GRAY, Joseph SNOW, John UNDERHILL.
The Rowan County records show that John was a Millwright and the articles sold in the sale of his personal property prove that he was indeed just that. Besides the cattle, horses, wagons, household furniture and clothing the following tools of his trade are listed: 1 Mill compass and square, 2 mill saws, 1 plain and auger, 2 big wheels, 3 screw augers and an arithmetic book.
Many of the household articles were purchased by his wife Abigail. Benjamin FRAZIER, the son who married Elizabeth SMITH was executor.
Randolph County records concerning the sale of the land of John FRAZIER are as follows:

Deed Book 8 page 227 1800Jonathan FRAZIER one-tenth share in lands as heir of John FRAZIER to William BELL, a total of 30 acres for $100.00.
The total acreage sold to William BELL by the four FRAZIER heirs were 120 acres in one piece of land bounded by Benjamin FRAZIER. I have a drawing of the shape of the land. It was signed by Samuel MILLIKAN.
The division of the land left by John FRAZIER was not made to ten children. The following records were listed above: William, Jonathan, David, Abigail, John Jr., David JONES who I assume was a grand-son, Benjamin who probably kept 30 acres adjoining his farm and possibly Samuel did the same since he owned land adjoining his father. That leaves two heirs not accounted for as I find no record of any other land transaction in the deed books.

John FRAZIER b. ca. 1775 - d. ; in fathers house in 1790 census under 16. Married 12 Feb. 1810 Jemima JONES half sister of David JONES. He was the witness at the marriage.
David FRAZIER b. 26 May 1777 (Youngest son) d. ; married Mary Salle BULLA.
It is apparent that Abigail MILLICAN FRAZIER widow of John, died before the Feb. 6th Term of Court because at this time Benjamin, her son was made executor of her estate.

In the division of the land of John FRAZIER in two instances the childs share was stated to be one tenth, so I assume that there were ten children but have not been able to locate more than the ones that are listed.
